Artificial Intelligence Luis De Garrido

Luis De Garrido Artificial Intelligence

Luis De Garrido is deeply interested in the workings of the human brain in a holistic way, and especially in the study of neural networks that are created within it, and in the cognitive mechanisms that are derived from their activity, all to establish mechanisms for stimulating brain activity, to improve and transcend as humans.
This research also allows for the implementation of artificial neural networks capable of emulating human creative activity, using computer processors. Complementary it allows him to design the most appropriate networks of processors for getting the most from these artificial cognitive systems.
Luis De Garrido has done two doctoral programs (Polytechnic University of Catalonia) on Artificial Intelligence and neural networks, and has done two doctoral theses on applications of Artificial Intelligence in architectural design:

  • “Applications of Artificial Intelligence in the composition of architectural objects” directed by Joaquín Arnau (UPV) and Francisco Garijo (UPC)
  • “ARCHIDS, a knowledge based system in the core of architectural design”, directed by Francisco Garijo (UPC) and Ulrich Flemming (CMU-MIT)

Currently, Luis De Garrido is making his third doctoral thesis at the Faculty of Computer Science at the Complutense University of Madrid, directed by Franscisco Garijo: “Modelling creativity by artificial intelligence systems. Aplications to Architectural Design”.

Luis de Garrido has directed several doctoral theses on Artificial Intelligence and has been president of Doctoral Thesis court on several occasions. In addition he collaborates in their research on artificial intelligence with the Departments of Design and Artificial Intelligence Cargenie-Mellon University, the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, MIT, and the Complutense University of Madrid.
